Love From Mom

One of the many fond memories that showed Mom’s love for us kids growing up, follows below.

As a family we laid Mom to rest yesterday. She was surrounded by her family; sons and daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We spoke of and listened to cherished memories, sacrifices Mom made. Heard angelic voices and strings sing/play “It is Well With My Soul”. We sang favorite hymns, listened to all the grandchildren and great grandchildren sing “Jesus Loves Me”. While they sang “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so” couldn’t help myself thinking – “Jesus loves me this I know, for my Grandma (Beppe) tells me so”. The greatest gift/legacy she left was the love of Jesus in her precious children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s hearts.
Mom was an amazing woman, a beautiful woman, a graceful woman, and a woman full of grace. She will be dearly missed, but we know she lives now in eternity with her savior. She sings again, she walks again, and she sees Dad and all the other loved ones that have gone before.
Yesterday we celebrated; a Godly, Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.
Where would we be if not for Mom, her love of us and her love of the Lord?

After school everyday
Fresh pot loose leaf tea
Slices warm homemade white bread
Butter churned today
Maybe slice of cheese

The “Epulaeryu” poem is about delicious food. It consists of seven lines with thirty-three (33) syllables. The first line has seven syllables, the second line five, the third line seven, the fourth line five, the fifth line five, the sixth line three, and the seventh line has only one syllable which ends with an exclamation mark. Each line has one thought relating to the main course. Therefore, this new poetic form, the Epulaeryu, which has corresponding lines built around the main course, and ending with an exclamation point, concludes with the ending line expressing the writer’s excitement and feelings about the poem.
